TAR

It's one of the Persian music instruments.We call it TAR.Persians have been using that for about 1000 year.First it just used for traditional music but now the musicians are trying to use it and mix it with modern electronic music.I think they got good results,because the sound of the Tar is so mach with those kinds of bits.Now i know even a few Americans who are trying to learn and play that.

Hello everyone! I am Cherie. I come from China. As you see there is a flag of China on the upper right corner. There are many things I like in the United State. Such as the Blue Man show, McDonald's, Disney and Movies. I enjoy living in Chicago.

I like Chicago

From the left to right of this poster, I have been tried to tell everyone where I came from and how I felt about the United State. I came from China, and I came here for 15 months. The United State is a melting pot, and we have to learn how to accept American’s culture. Something I like in Chicago is ice cream, it is cheap and tasty. There are large numbers of beautiful scenery in Chicago, so I want to take photos anywhere. I like Chicago.

Anything is Possible!

In all of these pictures I will talk about Bareck Obama. He's always confident and optimistic when he's talking making you feel like he knows what he's doing as our president. I think it is because he proved, not just to the US, but to the world that anything is possible. Obama seriously said that he was gonna get back so many jobs, and the number has already decreased greatly. Hopefully now everyone will see Black and Whites as one color.

I liked my post to be kind of mixed not to talk about one single country. I am living in USA and I know 2 different cultures American (that I should learn more because here will be my future) and Albanian (that was a great culture for how long I lived there). Now I am interesting the culture of USA. Let say as our President yes we can! and anything is possible!

My Culture

This picture can tell all of my classmates where I come from. Tang Suit is Chinese traditional dress. Before Tang Suit is only for rich people to wear to their special events. And the poor people can not even have the money to do one of the Tang Suit. Right now, Tang Suit is a fashionable style in the world. It follows the century to change their style for everyone. In this century, people use Tang Suit for their wedding dress, and also their important day. Tang Suit is valuable and elegant dress for Chinese people. I choose this image to let everyone to know. When we wear the dress in our body, this dress will show the beautiful figure out of the dress. The dress is mean a lot to me. To me, it tells me the history and important events that I should use.

On this poster I tried to show something that is about my lifestyle and popular culture that I'm in.
As you can see pictures with popular culture is mostly American,like shows and my favorite channels,that means it influence on me most.
Another that you can see is pictures with my favorite things to do,though it has nothing to do with my cultural identity but regarding these pictures you can know a little bit about things that I like to do,that represent me.

CHINESE FESTIVAL

Hello! This is my poster. In my poster, i talk something about my own country-China. After i get my homework, i am sure that i should talk about Chinese Festival which is the most important culture in China. As a Chinese, i should let everyone knows chinese popular culture-festival. There are seven festivals in my poster. They are 1.the Spring Festival( time : First Day of the First Month of the year), 2.the Lantern Festival( time : 15-th Day of the First Month of the year), 3.the Qingming(clear&bright) Festival( time :in the middle of Spring) , the Duanwu Jie( Dragon Boat) Festival, 4.the Festival Of Qi Xi Jie('Chinese Valentine's Day' ) (time : 7th Day of the 7th Month of the year), 5. the Moon Festival ( Mid-Autumn) ( time : 15-th Day of the 8-th Month of the year), 6. the Double Nineth Festival ( Elder Day) ( time : 9-th Day of the 9-th Month of the year) and 7. the Dong Zhi Jie( Winter Solstice Festival) ( time : December 21 or 22 of each year). Chinese Tang Suit

Hi Eveyone, my poster just showes a part of the Chinese Tang Suit.

The first line showes us the woman Tang Suit in the Qing Dynasty and the 20th centry.

The second line showes us the foreigners wore Tang Suit. Many famous stars were interested in it. Such as Kobe Bryant and Ronnie O'Sullivan.

The last line showes us the modern Tang Suit. It becomes more and more sexy and fashion.

This poster just showes a little bit Chinese Culture.

Chicago is the third largest city in the United States.Chicago has called the WindyCity. I like chicago so much,it's a beautiful city,but i don't like chicago'weather..it's too cold..and winter is too long......

I came to Chicago, has more than one year, I like this city.China and the United States have different culture, but I think I will gradually understand and adapt to.

Era of Fashion

Cheongsam is one of the most typical, traditional costumes for Chinese women. it is like a wonderful flower in the Chinese colorful fashion scene because of its particular charm.Cheongsam can display all women's modesty, softness and beauty. Like Chinese women's temperament.

Wedding dress is the most representative of Western clothing, and wedding design of the United States leads the world trend. It is a symbol of happiness. Wedding dress makes every bride look like a princess.

Chinese Culture

As you see in the picture is chinese traditional art, cuisine, tea, festival, architecture,medicine, music,opera,religion. All those plays an important role in chinese social and emotional life. Each country has its own special culture. I was impacted the place i live in china. That's why i chose these images in the poster. In the United States seem every bit as strange to me from another place. On the lower left corner of the picture, you can see some picture from United States, like the white house, the shopping mall and the thanksgiving dinner. These insert my culture Since i moved to United States.

CHINESE CULTURE

On the left side of this photo are: Chairman Mao, he is a great person in China. When I went to school in China we learned a lot of his stories. Next are a country and a school which is similar to the place I used to live and went to. In the middle of the photo are two women wearing traditional cloth: cheongsam. On the right of the poster are cartoons and activities which I always watched and played in my childhood, shuttlecock, cartoon:Fu Lu Xiong Di and flying kite.

CHINESE CULTURE

For the whole poster, I want to describe some culture from my hometown, one part of south side in China. I put some characteristic pictures of my culture; it is about people, festivals, food, place, cartoons and religion: Buddhism.

the date of every chinese new year is different.this year is Jan 26. this chinese new year is very special and important for me because this is my first chinese new year in america.there have chinese new year parade in china town last sunday.many people from other culture join us to celebrate chinese new year. ..america is real salad bowl. that is why i choose this picture using in my poster.

Let's learning about korea.

I will introduce my home country, Korea is divided 2 parts north side is north korea, south side is south korea, but i don't want mention about north, because i really hate north korea, I went to the army 2years because of north korea .


actually, South Korea is a developed country and a fast emerging economic power, but , 70years ago, korea was very poor country because of war between south and north, so korea was destroyed and left nothing. but, koreans didn't give up, so, they struggling, and efforts aginst to poor. finally, South Korean economy grew significantly, transforming the country into a major global economy

This picture is from the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. When the Olympic Games came in Greece it was something amazing, I was very lucky to see the game in Athens. Now maybe I’ll be again lucky because I thing in 2016 the Olympic Games are coming in Chicago. The others pictures are something I like. When I have free time I like to play video games with my friends, and ones a week we play soccer in indoor field. Computers and technology are very good friends of mine. My other favorite think is speed. I like watching race with a cars and motorcycles. One of the best Moto driver in the world is Vallentino Rossi.
